Sunday (and Saturday) Silliness

Saturday, May 25th:

Silly Costume “Dock Walk”

Starting at 12 o’clock PM, come strut your outrageously artistic self at the Ports of the World Dock. The rules, which are more like guidelines, are to come in a period costume made of non-traditional materials and have fun, fun, fun. Dozens of ramen wrappers in the house? That’s an Elizabethan bodice in the making. Too much duct tape? Make a pair of Roman sandals. Entrants must have documentation of where and when their piece or costume is from and what you used to make it with. Participants under 18 years of age MUST have a parent present at all times. To register for the dock walk find Isadora of Boeotia, your Sunday Sillies Coordinator, by 11:30AM on May 25th and present documentation.

Sunday, May 26th:

Tug-o-war

Here is an opportunity for friends to become foes, or foes to become friends. Want to challenge a household or another ship? Take it out in this time honored feat of strength. Starting at 1:30pm at the Second Eric, groups will be able to compete either determined by age or by pre-registered teams. There is no real competition aspect for this event, just some good clean yanking the other guys to the ground. Participants under 18 years of age MUST have a parent present at all times. To pre-reg, email by Thursday, May 23rd to emjpayne@yahoo.com with the names and number of teammates, and/or a household or ship to challenge. If you are unable to register by the May 23 rd deadline, find Isadora of Boeotia, the Sunday Sillies Coordinator, by 1PM on May 26th and then let the games begin!

Silly Parade

So not everyone got to see you on the Dock Walk the day before? Or your tug-o-war team was victorious in battle and you want the world to know it. Then come help wrangle up folks and get them to see all the fun you are having, while they are making their way to Baronial Court. At 4PM on Sunday, May 26th, join the Sunday Sillies Coordinator for a parade around the site to help enliven the spirits of everyone there. Your participation in the Silly events is worth being noted and here others can see what a fun and silly group individuals we are. The parade will start at Herald’s Point, wrap around the event site, and will end in front of Big Green. Participants under 18 years of age MUST have a parent present at all times.

Silly Talent Show

Bust out your best dance moves or your batons, ‘cause tonight is your night to shine! The show starts at 8PM on Sunday, May 26th, at Artisan Village and it is open for all ages, so keep it G-rated please, and bribery is welcomed! Make the audience your best friend through your display of silly feats or by showering them in gifts. The most talented will be chosen by the audience and a gloriously Silly prize awaits you. Pre-reg is highly recommended, to pre-reg, e-mail Isadora of Boeotia at emjpayne@yahoo.com with Mundane and SCA name(s), your age, and talent. Those who do not pre- reg will need to find Isadora during Egils, no later than 7:30PM on May 26th. The cap for total number of performers will be 24, 8 youth (12 and younger), 8 teens (13 to 18), and 8 adults (19 and older). Ultimately a performer from each group will then be honored as having the Silliest Talent. Participants under 18 years of age MUST have a parent present at all times. So dust off those taps, brush up your Shakespeare, and help make the last of Sunday Sillies events one of the Silliest!
